McLaren celebrates its 60 years with new LEGO models

In this 2023, McLaren turns 60. To celebrate them, it has just unveiled the new collection carried out together with Lego, the renowned brand of toy blocks. These are two models that join the Lego Speed Champions series, with two of the most iconic supercars from the Woking firm: the McLaren F1 LM and the McLaren Solus GT.

Both creations pay homage to McLaren’s technical innovation and design language, and include authentic details of the cars, including the Papaya Orange color of the F1 LM, the center position of the driver’s seat and the cooling ducts.

The McLaren F1 LM was a street car made to pay homage to the F1 GTR, winner of the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans. Only six units were built, of which five were sold, while another remains at the team’s headquarters in Woking. For its part, the Solus GT is a concept originally created for the virtual world, and from which Only 25 units will be manufactured. It stands out for having a design whose cabin is well in the center and has a single seat, while the large rear wing that it carries does not go unnoticed either.

The 581-piece set also features two pilots, one male and one female, each in their flameproof overalls and helmet.

The partnership between LEGO and McLaren dates back to 2015. Since then, six Lego Speed Champions McLaren models and two LegoTechnic McLaren models have been released.
