MINI is another of the brands that has its “dead line” for combustion very well marked on the calendar. We have already seen the arrival of the MINI SE, work is already underway on the Countryman and the E, so the John Cooper Works EV, the most rabid version of the family, is also preparing to do the same in electric fields.
The MINI JCW EV is already in the testing phase, however, the English brand does not end up deciding what its final appearance will be, obviously this has to do with issues of aerodynamic performance which, in turn, affects energy consumption, especially in high-performance models like this little sports car.
Even with camouflage, new exterior components can be distinguished in the front area of the MINI JWC EV:
- The defense is wider and sportier
- Larger front grill with horizontal bezel. May or may not have active vents
- prominent rear wing
- New rear bumper design that includes a striking diffuser
- two-tone wheels
- The skulls retain the Union Jack design.
The CarsCoops colleagues did not have access to the interior of the small electric sports car, however the arrangement of components such as instruments or a 9.4” screen could be replicatedall of the above “wrapped” in fully JWC upholstery, textures and details, which are always exquisite.
MINI John Cooper Works EV: Power
To surpass the MINI E with a 40.7 kWh battery and 181 Hp, as well as the Cooper SE with a 54.2 kWh battery and 215 Hp, the JWC EV will have to optimize or expand its voltaic power. Then there is the issue of autonomy, so it will be interesting to see how the equation is solved by the British firm, although we know in advance that these architectures have a lot of BMW.
