It’s been a while since we first talked about the Kimera EVO37. It was presented as a representation of the Lancia 037 at the present time. In fact, it went one step further, since to do it the same base is used as in the classic. It is necessary a unit that acts as a donor and that is significantly modified following the technique of the restomod, a restoration with modern touches. The project started in 2021 and has had to follow a few steps, although the first deliveries to the client are already being made. Teo Martin He is the firm’s first client in our country and already has his exclusive vehicle. The founder of the MSI (Motor Sport Institute) is one of the great names in competition at the national level, a true eminence that promotes the training of young people in the industry with his striking project. He also has a collection of high-level vehicles to which this specimen is now going to be added. Kimera Automobili affirms that Teo Martín was one of the first five customers who trusted their EVO37 when it was just an ideal, a sketch and its digital render.
It may have been influenced by the fact that Teo himself was a pilot in the 80s, the golden age of the Lancia 037 that has inspired this project. The fact is that he trusted his potential and decided to acquire one of the first units and work with the team of Luca Betti, CEO of Kimera Automobili, in the configuration of that vehicle. This unit has been baptized as Paula in honor of the buyer’s granddaughter and is recognizable by its bodywork in Kimera red, with details in carbon, anthracite and red alcantara for the interior and materials such as CNC-milled aluminium.
A Kimera EVO37 very similar to the one in the presentation, which is the most characteristic configuration that could be had. What does not change is that it is based on the engine of 2.1-liter inline four-cylinder, which receives a double supercharging thanks to a turbocharger and a volumetric compressor that give it a surprising level of power. Are 512 hp and 550 Nm of torquealways with a six-speed manual gearbox and delivering that power directly to the rear axle.
Teo Martín can be proud to be among the first to enjoy his Kimera EVO37 “Paula” (002/037) and all that 80’s atmosphere that surrounds it. The disbursement that he has had to make for him has not been made official, although we calculate that it will have been exemplary. It is an example limited to 37 units who need a Lancia 037 Stradale as a base to start working on. Taking into account that it is an entirely manual process, they announced a base rate of 480,000 eurosalthough we would not be surprised if the final amount was much higher.
