Piere Gasly faces his first course as an Alpine pilot. And he does it without any intention of being secondary. To be in the shadow of Esteban Ocon. To continue doing what he did in AlphaTauri. And that is leading. That is, exactly, what they expect of him in the French Formula 1 team.
Because Laurent Rossi wants the Frenchman to lead the team. That he does it despite being the new one, that Ocon has already taken four courses with this one in Alpine and after all the problems that existed between him and Fernando Alonso throughout 2022.
“In AlphaTauri, Gasly was the leader. We want you to keep doing that. That it makes the team grow and that it grows with us,” he stated on the official F1 website.
And he continues: “We are looking for Gasly take us to another level.”
