Porsche 718 GT4 RS Kit Manley: even faster

If you thought the Porsche 718 GT4 RS was fast, we have to tell you that it’s even faster. The 718 Cayman GT4 RS with Manthey Kit It’s track-optimized with killer setup and modifications to give it all on the track. One of our favorite Porsches, the Porsche 718 GT4 RS is even faster.

the kit

Porsche rides the Kit Manthey in the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, to optimize its performance on the track. With this kit, the 500 PS (368 kW) GT4 RS managed to complete a lap in Nurburgring in 7:03.121 minutes. This is an improvement of 6.179 seconds compared to the 718 Cayman GT4 RS without the kit.

The kit modifications focus on key aspects of the aerodynamics and chassis components. In addition to including a extra in the form of brake pads specially designed for circuit. The development of this kit was carried out in Meuspath, in close collaboration between Porsche Motorsport engineers and specialists from Manthey, the Nordschleife layout. It is important to note that the components of this kit are approved for use on the road.

Almost twice the downforce

The Manthey Kit of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS stands out for its changes to aerodynamic parts. In the front part, fins, air curtains with flap gurney in the wheel arch and a new carbon lower body with diffusers, thereby improving downforce. The rear wing is wider, with a new wing and larger vertical profiles at the ends (endplates), which increases downforce on the rear axle.

The rear engine cover is reinforced with carbon fabric and the rear wheel aerodiscs are made of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), reducing turbulence and bringing a visually complete look to the aerodynamic package. These air discs can be personalized with an optional sticker. At 200 km/h, when the rear wing is set to Performance mode for track, total downforce increases from 89 to 169 kilograms.

adjustable spring suspension

Porsche and Manthey have developed a special suspension for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. It offers four-position spring adjustment and tool-less compression and rebound adjustment.

The front suspension is 20% stiffer. The kit includes steel brakes and competition brake pads can be added. Illuminated door sill guards and tow hooks are also offered as options. These improvements provide an exceptional driving experience with the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, guaranteeing an exact pressure point, ensuring optimal delivery of braking power.

Carbon fiber extras

The kit can be extend with an additional accessory specially designed for the rear wing in CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer). This piece, finished with carbon weavemounts to the standard rear wing and increases downforce on the rear axle by approximately four percent.

In addition, they offer optional grilles for ventilation of the wheel arches front, with fins also in carbon fabric, like those included in the Weissach pack. These additional options further enhance the vehicle’s aerodynamic performance.

The result on track

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS with the Manthey Kit has proven its performance with Jörg Bergmeister at the wheel. A temperature of 18 degrees Celsius and cloudy skies, the modified GT completed the 20.8 kilometer course in 7:03.121 minutes. This represents a 6.179 second improvement over the 718 Cayman GT4 RS time series of the previous year. Both cars used optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires and the lap time was certified by a notary.

The Manthey Kit will be available at Porsche Centers around the world and you can check the specific price for each country in the Porsche accessories search engine and if you want it for your Porsche Cayman, the installation of the kit does not affect the manufacturer’s warranty. The European launch is scheduled for December 2023.
