Fernando Alonso still keep very much in mind to Alpine and to Esteban Ocon. He is still clear about where he comes from, and everything that happened to him in 2021 and especially in 2022 in which both his team and his partner seemed more rivals than the McLarens. In Miami, in Free Practice 2, he did not hold back on the radio when the Frenchman made him one of his typical ‘plays’ in F1.
Because Esteban continues as always. Because, despite the fact that they say that experience is a degree and that you learn from everything, he continues without considering that he has to reconsider anything. They don’t even take five races, but even in such a short time the tension between him and Pierre Gasly at Alpine is already palpable.
An Alpine that considered before Baku that could be second in the World Cup. After AzerbaijanThey may have changed their scope. In the race, the most absolute disaster with another zero that he made blow up Otmar Szafnauer.
But in the Free they are going great, and that was what Fernando reminded them. He was reminded of this after, when he was on a fast lap, Esteban Ocon decided to get in the middle of Alonso’s line to completely destroy his turn.
“Alpine is competing with us in Free Practice,” Alonso told Aston Martin on the radio.
The team replied: “Yes, and beware. You were on a fast lap.”
Alonso, far from letting it be, did not cut himself and hit what was his team in the last two seasons: “Yes. Free practice is his moment”.
But there the French team did not have much moment either. Esteban Ocon finished ninth, with Pierre Gasly eleventh. The Aston Martinsfifth with Alonso and eighth with Stroll.
