These are all the series premieres for the week of February 13 to March 19, 2023

This week comes with two powerful titles that focus on climate change. These are ‘The fifth day’, from Movistar Plus+, and ‘A challenging future’, from Apple TV+. Without a doubt, these are series that will surprise you due to the hardness of their stories and the realism with which they raise issues that could affect our lives much sooner than we think.

To lighten the type of content we also have other series such as the award-winning ‘Ted Lasso’, a comedy that with its third and final season will close a story marked by passion, friendship, betrayals and the desire to believe with the most unlikely , if pursued vehemently, can become a reality. But there is much more, so we leave you a video in the header and a complete list with all the premieres so you don’t miss a thing.

Movistar Plus+

‘The fifth day’ T1, Monday March 13

Strange events begin to occur in the oceans at different points on the planet. The scientific community is alert when they realize that they could be interconnected. A strange form of intelligence could be organizing what could be compared to a natural army willing to kill off humans to protect their habitat. Dangerous bacteria infiltrating water sources, shellfish with the ability to expel poison or whales with unusual aggressiveness and qualities for destruction would be just one example of their soldiers. Although it might seem somewhat fanciful, the truth is that the visual makeup of the series is surprising and makes you see that its theme is treated with more realism than it might seem from its description.

Among its central characters are Leon Anawak and Charlie Wagner. He is a cetacean zoologist trying to understand what is happening to the whales in Canada. Ella, a biologist studying serious anomalies in the North Sea. This fiction has Frank Doelger, one of the executive producers of ‘Game of Thrones’ and is based on the novel Der Schwarm, by Frank Schätzing, which sold more than four and a half million copies in Germany alone.

‘Marriage’ T1, Tuesday March 14

The British series is an emotional drama that follows the ups and downs of a couple who have been married for 27 years. They have good moments and also others that are not so good due to fear, jealousy, insecurities and a certain degree of exhaustion with life. But the complicity they show, typical of a long relationship, makes them particularly endearing. Their daily life, however, is also plagued by completely absurd discussions that they surely wouldn’t dare to have with anyone else.

AppleTV+

‘Ted Lasso’ S3, Wednesday March 15

The already well-known and award-winning series, characterized by its unwavering positivism, returns with the great Roy Kent ready to conquer viewers again with his natural grace. His character, American football manager Ted Lasso, who closed the second season by leading AFC Richmond to the Premier League, must deal with a betrayal.

Their players will try to transfer the energy that unites them in the dressing room to the field to prevent the omens of the journalists who place them in last place in the league from coming true. But neither they nor Lasso forget that now their technical assistant will play against them, after having left with West Ham United.

‘A challenging future’ T1, Friday March 17

The consequences of climate change translated into reality through an eco-drama that narrates a desperate daily life in which, however disappointing it may be, we can all see ourselves reflected. With Edward Norton and Meryl Streep among its cast, the most selfish and irrational human qualities coexist in this compendium of stories interspersed with endless dreams that are broken when the planet begins to move at full speed in the opposite direction to the noblest desires of The humanity. A series that brings us closer to the possibility that, before we think about it, it is already too late.

AXN
