If you follow us, surely you already know the news about the Ford Mustang 2024. The seventh generation will come with a redesign and the good news of keeping its epic V8 engine current, although its power figures were not discussed at the time. But that mystery ends today.
As we knew, the Mustang will have two engines, the aforementioned V8 and also a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-four. In the case of the latter, its power will be 315 HP and 350 pound-feet of torque.just 5 more horsepower and the same torque as the outgoing model.
In this case, novelty is bad news, since the most accessible version of the pony car will no longer have a manual transmission available, and can only be purchased with the 10-speed automatic transmission. The good thing is that this Ecoboost engine promises good consumption figures.

Now let’s get to the juicy stuff, the Mustang GT with its V8. In this case, the 5.0L Coyote will boast an output of 480 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque, that’s 30 HP and 5 pound-feet of torque more than the engine in the outgoing Mustang GT. Additionally, the power increase may be accompanied by better sound, as an active valve exhaust system can be optionally ordered, further bringing power to 486 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque while open. .
Now, things get more would still be with the Mustang Dark Horsea version that starts from the GT but includes a rebalanced crankshaft, forged connecting rods and reinforced camshafts. This results in a power increase to 500 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torqueranking as the second most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever to come to a production Mustang after the 5.2L in the Shelby GT350.
With the Mustang Dark Horse, things get very serious.
There are still no prices for the different versions of the new Ford Mustang 2024, but surely we will have it soon which is scheduled to go on sale in mid-2023.
