Aston Martin has zero doubts with the signing of Fernando Alonso. The British have full confidence in work and the work of the Asturian pilot to the point of affirming that, after the departure of a four-time world champion like Sebastian Vettel, they have not lost “nothing in particular”.
As Dan Fallows has said, chief engineer of the british brandwho feels that 2023 is key to the future of the brand.
“We want to produce a better car for next year. We want to see the progression, and you have to make sure you have pilots that they can get the most out of everything,” he says.
There he puts the focus on Alonso: “He has great experience and a proven track record. Stroll? He is also able to drive the car.”
Because Fallows does not believe that Vettel’s departure should be a trauma for Aston Martin: “We haven’t lost anything in particular.”
“We have pilots who can give a good answer. Alonso is very good, and Stroll is also good in that aspect,” he says.
And clarifies: “I’m not saying they give us positive feedback, because it doesn’t always happen, but a good one that is capable of analyzing how they feel in the car”.
