When the Tesla Cybertruck made its appearance, back in 2019, we were surprised by the curious shape of its body, literally full of straight lines and made with stainless steel, among other details. Well, it turns out that a brand from China did not want to be less, and unveiled an even more striking electric pick-up.
IAT T-Mad: Main Features
On the occasion of the 2022 Guangzhou Motor Show, the Chinese firm IAT unveiled the T-Mad, the concept of what will be its future pick-up. It is a large “flat” as it has a length of 5,878 mm, a width of 2,198 mm and a height of 2,029 mm.
The size of the T-Mad is very similar to that of the Cybertruck, if we take into account that its length is almost identical (barely 7 mm less), and that it is a little wider (+172 mm) and taller (+124 mm). In addition, it is also disruptive in terms of its external appearance.
The front of the concept is divided into three steps, and has an extremely large bumper. Sideways, the appearance is even more striking, thanks to the shapes and colors used, In addition to including robust stirrups. At the back is a good-sized cargo tray, a wide black horizontal strip (where the lights should be) and another wide fender.

How could it be otherwise, the interior is also innovative. In short, it seems made so that the occupants interact with each other as if they were chatting at a coffee table. Both the driver’s seat, located in the center, and the two that are behind, rotate 180º on their axis, to face the occupants of what is a large rear seat. For the better, the rear doors open backwards (they are suicide type), which facilitates entry into the cabin.
IAT T-Mad: More details
In technical matters, no further details of the Chinese pick-up were revealed. In any case, the production model is expected to have a Autonomy close to 800 kilometers, which could be extended to 1,000 kilometers, depending on the battery used.
For now, the IAT T-Mad was presented as a concept, but the idea would be that production begins in the not too distant future. Will it take as long as the Cybertruck, that three years after its presentation, not a single unit has yet been delivered? Let’s hope not.
