The margins of the radars decrease. Don’t listen to the “rule of seven” anymore: now you will be fined for minor speeding.
Radars are the great enemies of those drivers who like to press the right pedal more than the law allows. Till the date, kinemometers had a margin of error which made them not jump exactly at the maximum speed marked by the track in which they were placed.
All of us, at one time or another, have heard of the famous rule of seven which meant that there was up to 7 percent flexibility for speeding in limits from 100 km/h and 7 kilometers in the lower limits. Thus, for example, in a section delimited at 100 km/h, the radar would not photograph the violation until it reached 107 km/h. On a road with a maximum marked speed of 90, the cinemometer would act from 97 km/h.

In this way, the new maximum margins of error of the cinemometers must be taken into account. In fixed speed cameras and section it is 3 km/h in limits up to 100 km/h and 3 percent in limits above 100 km/h). In the same way, in mobile radars the margin is situated at 5 km/h in limits up to 100 km/h and 5%, in limits that exceed that speed.

The sanctions, yes, remain the same way. Thus, we remind you that they depend on how soon the speed limit set on a road or section is exceeded: the faster, the greater the fine and the greater the deduction of points. They remain as follows.
Exceed the limit between 1 and 20 km/h: 100 euros and card points are not lost.
Exceed the limit between 21 and 30 km/h: 300 euros and two points.
Exceed the limit between 31 and 40 km/h: 400 euros and four points.
Exceed the limit between 41 and +50 km/h: 500 euros and six points.
Exceed the limit by more than 51 km/h: 600 euros and six points.
Above 60 km/h in the city or 80 km/h on interurban roads, you can face jail terms of three to six months or fine from six to 12 months or work for the benefit of the community from 31 to 90 days, in addition to the withdrawal of the driver’s license between one and four years.
