One of the novelties is that previously, when planning a short trip, drivers had to manually add stops to charge an electric car. Now Google Maps will do it for you. google even determine the optimal charging stop to minimize total trip time, taking into account driving time, charging time and charging speed at suggested stations. Google will also take into account external factors, such as road conditions and the capabilities of your car, to make recommendations.

Google Maps will allow you to search only charging stations with fast charging capacity from 150 kW to 350 kW. This will save drivers time when searching for the desired station.

In addition, when you are looking for something, such as a store, Google Maps will show you if there is an electric car charger in the search results. This can be useful when you are deciding between two similar places, but the presence of a charger in one of them can help you decide.

The updates come at an interesting time, as Google integration is becoming more common and will be effective on Ford vehicles starting later this year. Google has also revealed that searches for “electric cars” hit an all-time high in 2022noting that interest in electric vehicle charging stations has increased by more than 60 percent compared to this time last year.
