Michael Schumacher and lewis hamilton They are the two drivers with the most world titles in the entire history of Formula 1: seven. far is max verstappenwith two, although the one from Mercedes fears that the Dutchman will arrive sooner or later.
His youth, 25 years, and the power of Red Bull They make you think you can catch up. “He has a very long career ahead of him, so of course (he can catch me). In the end, they are there to beat him, and he has an incredible team,” said the British driver.
“Max has been doing an amazing job, he’s had an amazing run so far, and he’s going to top it for sure (referring to Ayrton senna). We are working so that the car is where it should be to be able to stop him”, Lewis expressed in words collected by ‘Motorsport’.
Although he hopes that Mercedes win again: “However, as I said, we have to work harder to try to keep expanding it. I hope we get to have, at least in the last period of my career, some more close grands prix.”
One step forward… not enough
Mercedes has improved. That is a reality. But not enough to face Red Bull. No other car has been able to catch up with Max. Neither did the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonsothe closest it has been to date.
In Barcelona both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell they got on the podium. In Canada, Hamilton again. The silver arrows are slowly coming back. And that is what Lewis wants so that Verstappen does not reach him in the world championships.
