Veterans, businessmen, ‘old school’, fans of the Formula 1…many see various similarities between Flavio Briatore and Lawrence Strollbut few speak with the authority of Fernando Alonso.
The two-time F1 world champion was recruited by the Italian when he was still a ‘rookie’ of minardi and, four years later, he was crowned by the hand of Renault with the controversial leader on the blue wall.
On the other hand, the Canadian was the trigger for Alonso to change Alpine by Aston Martin after a conversation that persuaded the Oviedo to catch his last train to success in the ‘Great Circus’.
In an interview in ‘L’Équipe’, Fernando has highlighted how Briatore and Stroll are alike… and there is no doubt: leadership ability.
“In a way, yes. They are not engineers, but leaders. Each of them has a vision for their company,” explained the 41-year-old pilot.
Just a month ago, the Asturian also referred to the Italian and the Canadian, highlighting the charisma as well as the leadership of both.
