Kalle Rovanpera won Rally Estonia and is closing in on a new title

the finn Kalle Rovanpera (Toyota), current world champion of the WRCdevastated his rivals in the Estonian Rally to achieve his third consecutive victory in the Baltic test.


After dominating the eight stages of the day on Saturday and obtaining an advantage of 34.9 seconds over the second classified, the Belgian Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), Rovanperá, far from dosing himself and running defensively, continued his display on Sunday.

The Nordic once again claimed victory in the four stages of the third day, making clear his superiority and finishing the rally with 52.7 seconds advantage over Neuville and 59.5 over his compatriot Esapekka Lappi (Hyundai), which completed the test podium.


“Going into the championship it is a really important place to get good points and the plan was exactly this. It is my favorite test of the calendarso I knew we had to push here, and it went well.” said the 22-year-old new champion.

With eight races disputed, Rovanpera widens his lead in the championship standings with 170 pointssecond is his teammate the British Elfyn Evans with 115 and third Neuville with 112.
