TOLike the DS 7 Crossback, the DS 3 Crossback is one of the pillars of the French brand, one of the products that led it to lead its segment in our country. That is why several months after its presentation in Europe, DS decided to bring the update of its B-SUV to Argentina, with the aim of remaining a benchmark in style and technology in its category.

In addition to the visible redesign, another of the changes has to do with its name, since it is now renamed DS 3 to dry. It also incorporated more technology and a new 8-speed automatic transmission.

The new:

It is the update of the DS 3 that dropped the “surname” Crossback, which was unveiled in the Old Continent at the end of September last year. With slight design changes and more technology, the most accessible model in the gala firm’s portfolio is now ready to face the second half of its commercial cycle.

On an aesthetic level, as usually happens in these half-life updates, it received quite specific and subtle modifications, without altering its design in depth. In the sector, where the main changes are, the new grill stands out –with straighter lines, similar to that of the DS 4- and the new internal design of the headlights. There are no major changes on the sides –except for the design of the alloy wheels-, while at the rear the headlights now sport a new black frame that gives it a somewhat sportier appearance.

The same formula is repeated inside, with occasional modifications, but enough to make us realize that it is an update: a new 10.3” touch screen is released for the DS Iris System (Rivoli+) multimedia system, touch-ups in the animations of the 100% digital instrumentation and new finishes that seek to give it a more refined and sportier air, with Nappa and Alcantara leather appliqués not only on the seats or on the door panels, but also on the front panel. Also, the steering wheel received new commands and allows to operate more functions. In terms of driving assistance systems, the series now includes lane keeping assistant, traffic sign recognition system, autonomous emergency braking (up to 85 km/h) and Vision Park 2 parking assistant with parking system. cameras with 360º vision, among other items.

Versions:

Initially, the renewed DS 3 will be available in two versions, Rivoli and Rivoli+, both with a single mechanical configuration.

The version rivoli It has a multimedia system with a 10.3” touch screen with Mirror Screen (compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) and integrated browser, automatic climate control, variable power steering, automatic lighting, electric windows, electric mirrors, central armrest with storage , wireless charger, gear change recommender, multifunction steering wheel, leather upholstery, DS Matrix Led Vision headlights, Led daytime running lights, parking sensors and 17” alloy wheels.

the variant Rivoli+ adds Keyless Entry & Start, DS Iris System with voice recognition, Nappa leather upholstery, Visio Park 2 parking assistant, driver’s seat with electrical regulation, heating and massager, Focal Electra audio equipment and 18 “alloy wheels.

Safety equipment:

Both the Rivoli and the Rivoli+ versions have 8 airbags (2 front, 4 side and 2 curtain), four-wheel disc brakes with ABS/EBD/BA, traction control, stability control, tire pressure monitoring tires and Isofix anchors. They also include a package of driving assistance systems with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control (DS Drive Assist) and lane departure warning. The Rivoli+ adds a Head-Up Display.

Mechanics:

Both versions are powered by the well-known 1.2-liter three-cylinder PureTech gasoline engine, which delivers 130 hp at 5,500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm, mated to the EAT8 automatic gearbox with an 8-speed torque converter. According to factory data, they accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds and reach a top speed of 196 km/h.
