Pepe Martí, Fernando Alonso’s pupil, makes a golden comeback in F3

At 17 years old, Pepe Marti is signing one of his best starts in the F3 where it has been three seasons (with the current one). The illusion of the Barcelonan when he arrived in Australia was clear after achieving his first victory in the first race of the course.

In Albert Parkthings did not start in the best way for Martí, because on Friday in qualifying he made a mistake that led him to the wall of the circuit, and forced him to start last for the race.

On Saturday, in the first race, he rose to 16th position, and with several penalties, he was left with 13th place. A day later, the second race arrived and with it, the second comeback.

From P30 to P7 in the race

Marti crossed the finish line in ninth positionand dropped another two places, also due to sanctions against other pilots.

He went up six points with which the pilot from racing fields, he was “super happy” and admitted that “they taste like glory because he no longer had them.” The race “was complicated”, and that gives more value to the result of the pilot supervised by the academy of Fernando Alonso.

Upon crossing the finish line, Martí considered that Australia was one of his best races. “In one lap we had already gone from 30 to 21, we had a spectacular pace.”

Now, we will have to wait more than a month to see Pepe Martí again on top of his car. It will not be until weekend of May 19 in Imola. The Barcelonan will arrive being fifth in the championship.
