the Honda still doesn’t work… and you’ve already ruled out a motorcycle

A possible season is coming full of problems and difficulties for Marc Márquez. The Catalan rider, who is finally fully recovered from all his physical problems, has found a Honda that is far from what can be expected from a brand that wants to win the MotoGP World Championship.

At least for now. The tests in Sepang are making it clear that the Japanese they need to improve, and not exactly a little, after a couple of days in which he still hasn’t shown anything that could worry Ducati, for example.

In the middle of the table he has stayed. With a time of 1:59.450 about seven tenths of the record set by Jorge Martín, leader of the session. The worst thing is that Joan Mir and Alex Rins, the newcomers, are not much better.

“We’ve only been able to do 25 laps in the dry, but it’s been quite to test the three bikes. It’s complicated, because you go out on the track with a different one and with things to try… but it’s time to do it,” he says.

It has served to rule out one of the bikes I was testing in Sepang: “We are going to need the owner. There has been a motorcycle with which I’ve been better, is the one I have chosen. There is a different one. Not with great potential, but yes with interesting things”.

A lot of work lies ahead for Honda and Márquez: “We are using a lot of time to compare. We want to be very precise so as not to lose the way… but we are far from the fastest riders. It’s obvious”.
