Without a statement, with nothing more than a video posted on YouTube and on social networks, Volkswagen anticipates a special and limited production version for the Golf R named 333.
Volkswagen has threatened several times with very powerful versions of the Golf, but all have come to nothing. The most powerful version to date is the Golf R 20th Anniversary, which has just 333 Hp. Of course, it was manufactured in very few units and was marketed in very specific markets.
This new Golf R 333 replicates several of the tricks of that model. Due to the power, it gives us the idea that it must be the same two-liter turbo engine, which delivers 333 Hp, associated with a 4Motion traction system and a seven-speed DSG transmission. We can also see the 19″ “Estoril” model wheels in black, blue calipers and Akrapovic exhaust system. So far, it seems that it was the same anniversary model, only in a striking yellow color.
We do not know anything else about the model, except that it will not be designed based on the future facelift announced by the brand. If they really wanted to do something special, they could add some extra elements, a sportier suspension, stronger brakesgreater rigidity, something that allows us to get more out of those 333 Hp, but well, they are things that we do not know and that we will eventually discover on May 31, which is when Volkswagen shows us what it did with the Golf R 333.
