Aston Martin leaves portable barracks behind and the next improvements are already working in offices

Aston Martin surprised everyone at the start of the season by becoming the second best team out of nowhere. And now, at the Canadian Grand Prix, they have brought a great upgrade pack not to be left behind. The most meritorious part of doing all this has been to develop everything without a fixed headquarters, sharing a wind tunnel and working in portable barracks.

This is due to the ambitious new plan of Lawrence Stroll, owner of the team, with Aston Martin. The Canadian tycoon began construction at the end of 2022 of a new factory in silverstone Exclusive for the British team that has already finished its first phase.

Until now, the British were working partly in an old headquarters, another part in portable barracks and the use of the wind tunnel was at the Mercedes headquarters. While work continues on the rest of the buildings and the wind tunnel of the new factory, Dan Fallowstechnical director of Aston Martin, confirmed that they already work in the new office.

“Our plant for new technologies is almost finished. The technical offices are already finished, we moved in a couple of weeks ago and it’s been great. We are in the process of finalizing the move to the new building and then there are others still to be done.”

Fallows wanted to highlight that being able to physically work in the same place is a great advance for the team: “It’s incredibly exciting for the team because we were working on a combination of an old building and some portable barracks. Having everyone in the office, in the same room, is a huge step forward for us.”

The rest of the offices are in the final stretch of their construction, while the new wind tunnel will still have to wait until 2024. However, as Dan Fallows has stated, having the team working in one place is already “a step forward” for the project.
