The 2023 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed has the presence of an Argentine car: the Huayra-Ford. Created by Heriberto Pronello, one of the most prominent designers and builders in the history of Argentine motorsports.
Participant of the brand new Argentine Sport Prototype championship in 1969, the Huayra-Ford only obtained one victory, but it was enough to remain in the memory of the public, thanks to its bodywork as particular as it is aerodynamic. In addition, it was driven by Carlos Alberto Reutemann, prior to his time in Formula 1. This year, one of the two Huayra-Fords that were built was taken to Goodwood, by the hand of its current owner.

The Festival Of Speed (as it is known in English) It had the Huayra-Ford as its protagonist, when touring the well-known hill under heavy rain. Due to the weather, it drove slowly, behind no less than the Mazda 787B, the first rotary-powered Japanese winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 1991. The Huayra-Ford went over the hill five other times.
The presence in Goodwood of the Argentine prototype happens after days ago it was tested in the Catesby wind tunnel, an old road of almost three kilometers of railway use and that today works to carry out aerodynamic tests.
